Keeping People With Their Pets

In response to the ever-growing economic crisis and pet overpopulation issue, OFOSA is excited to announce our new community outreach program — Pets for Life. This program’s funds are designated for two purposes:

a) Lifesaving Treatment for pets that helps families keep their pets — 25% of procedure cost, up to $1,000*

b) Spay / Neuter Procedure — up to $200 per procedure**

No one should be forced to surrender their animal because they are unable to pay for necessary veterinary treatment. We hope that our Pets for Life fund can help in some small way.

Research shows that there are many health benefits of owning a pet, including decreasing stress, improving heart health, and even helping children with their emotional and social skills. We believe that keeping people in our community healthy creates a better world!

*Qualification for assistance includes, but is not limited by, these criteria: WIC, Housing Assistance, or SSDI recipients. These and others will be considered on a case by case basis with a recommendation from the treating veterinarian.

**To be considered for a Spay/Neuter grant, you must live in the Portland, Oregon metro area. Please click below to fill out an application.

Thanks to our sponsors so far: Oregon Community Fund, Walmart Neighborhood Market-Murray Blvd, and Advantis Credit Union…along with so many individual supporters who give to this fund monthly!

All funds will be paid directly to the treating veterinarian and based on amount of funds available at time of request.

If you’d like to help OFOSA with this effort, please donate directly to the Pets for Life Fund below:
