If you are interested in a specific pet, please call 503-747-7818 or email info@ofosa.org to arrange a meet & greet. Because our pets are in foster care, it may take 24 to 48 hours for a response. We answer inquiries in the order received.

PLEASE NOTE!  Before you can adopt one of our pups, ALL members of your household, including other dogs, must participate in a meet & greet with the new pup.

I love seeing these photos! We rescued both of our pups separately from you guys and they are the best addition to our home and family. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you do for so many animals! ♥️♥️♥️

It's that time again! Once a month we like to honor one of our foster heroes! They are the true heroes behind the scenes who are the bridge from high kill shelters to forever homes.

This month, we honor the Medlin Family! Kim, Ray, and their children, have this to say about fostering for OFOSA:

"We chose to broaden our experience with fostering and adoption by including animals. Fostering and adoption of children has been a part of our lives for many years as well as being dog and cat owners. We wanted to help our children experience the full circle of caring, bonding/attachment, and grieving while making a positive difference in the lives of others. It's always been important that fostering is a "whole family" event. We love our pets and wanted to know we were making a difference for other animals. Fostering through OFOSA has been a very positive experience for all of us."

"We have had a range from newborn puppies to older dogs, from abused to abandoned to owner surrendered. It doesn't matter, they have all left marks on our hearts. We have cried happy tears when they found their fur-ever families. We have then waited anxiously for the next opportunity to foster. Over the past two years we have fostered, and saved, close to 50 dogs."
"For us, the best parts of fostering have been watching our children grow and mature as they assume some of the responsibilities of care-taking. Watching our own dogs bond and take care/play with the foster doggies brings plenty of laughter. One of our dogs in particular ( a foster failure) has become a surrogate momma for every litter that has joined us. She was a dog we fostered whom we adopted. She has become a second mom to all of the puppies, and it's very heart-warming to watch. We love what we do and can't imagine our lives without these beautiful creatures in them."

We have been so grateful over the years to benefit from many school and scout projects created by generous young people. 🥰🐾🎉
