OFOSA has a chance to earn $1500 PLUS LOTS OF TV COVERAGE in a contest being sponsored by Landmark Ford.

They put out a call for 24 nonprofit groups to make a commercial for the new Ford Fiesta, and are going to run it on their website until September 30. The group receiving the most votes is the one you will be seeing on their TV ads this fall.

So please, please, please go to the website and cast your votes daily until September 30 for OFOSA – you can view the commercial on the website, as well as those of the other groups who participated.

And if you’re wondering how we got the dogs to “talk,” the secret is a little peanut butter on the roof of their mouth!

So get your co-workers, friends, and family to take a look and PLEASE VOTE!

We Need Your Help

Oregon Friends of Shelter Animals, a volunteer driven nonprofit which has helped over 8000 cats and dogs transition out of shelters and into loving homes, is unexpectedly in need of a NEW HOME themselves. After over 6 years at our current location, we have lost our lease.

The next 8 weeks are pivotal and your contribution of as little as $20 will make a priceless difference for cats and dogs waiting to be saved TODAY.

Our move involves re-locating: The spay and neuter Surgical Clinic; Pre and post operation kennels; Isolation kennels to provide a quiet and safe recovery space for sick animals. Along with a new home for our offices and an Adoption Center.

                      OUR CAMPAIGN GOAL IS $50,000.

                             How you can help? Donate!

We have received great support in getting the word out by both KOIN6 and KTPV12.  They have both had wonderful articles on TV.  Here are the links: KOIN6 Local Early Show and KPTV12.

$20 Helps feed and shelter the dogs and cats
$35 Vaccinates two dogs or cats
$50 Spay or Neuter one dog or cat
$75 Helps move OFOSA

OFOSA has been rescuing dogs and cats facing euthanasia since 2002, providing the veterinary treatment and in-home foster care, training and socialization to prepare them for a happy life with their Forever Families.

OFOSA needs your support now to continue delivering our important mission. We sincerely appreciate your support for these loving animals.

Save a animal though fostering and

enjoy life through your foster!

My husband and I decided in the fall on 2008 to be foster parents.  My daughter was the culprit (already a foster) and convinced us to give it a try...... After dozens of babies, some needing special attention.....all unique and special.

I was involved with OFOSA the first year  thinking ...How much I am doing for these animals who have no other option.  Now it has changed to how much it helps me......  After a long day at work I have several little faces looking at me saying "How was your day?
Want to play?"   You know it is always said giving always gives back....it is absolutely amazing that your day to day activities for someone else make such a difference.

My picture is of Kade and me after his first bath.....he took it quite well. His Mommy now update me with pictures and funny stories......
Life is short live it well.

In a moment, You can change lives

It takes but a moment for a cat to go from living in a home to living on the streets.  Who knows how long Nala had been on her own by the time she was rescued?  When Nala came to our house with her 5 kittens we put her in her own room.  We closed the door and I had my young daughter stand against the wall behind the carrier when I opened it.  Have you ever heard the phrase "climbing the walls"?  Well, let me tell you...!  With no place to go vertically, Nala finally settled into her prepared nest where we carefully placed her babies.

We went from feeding her tidbits with a long spoon, to gently petting the top of this frightened mama's head.  Nala and my daughter became fast friends and she even came to like the dog (as long as he didn't come into the "nursery")!

Through adoption, Nala now has wonderful new people in her life.  Although this is not a typical foster story, for our family, it was one of our most memorable!
